About Lost in Thought

Lost in Thought is an app designed to be a place for people who want to record their thoughts. If you've ever wanted to journal, but never found the time, or did not want to buy a physical journal to write in, Lost in Thought is for you. Clear your mind and keep track of everything that is going on in your life, every day.

Lost in Thought or "LiT" was originally inspired by a conversation the creator, Jack, had with his therapist at the beginning of 2025. It had been a few weeks since they last spoke, and when they finally connected he had forgotten everything he wanted to share that occurred over the holidays. She asked if he had been journaling at all to help record his thoughts and feelings, which he had not, but he decided now would be the perfect time to start. Unsatisfied with the most popular journaling apps, Jack decided to build his own app aligned to what he thought made the most sense and begin journaling along the way. A few weeks and some development work went by and Jack still did not have a name for his app. To help get the creative juices flowing, he invited over a few of his friends for dinner accompanied by some wine. After much brainstorming and plenty of ideas, Jack's fiancée caught a phrase he used to describe the difficulty he was having with naming the app "Lost in Thought". The group knew immediately that this had to be the name. From there, Jack continued working on designing and developing the app until it was ready for beta release in June 2025.

Getting the app up and running was a challenging process, but a rewarding one. Throughout the development stages, Jack had been using the app to journal as part of testing and began to really gain an appreciation for journaling and to see the benefits. Capturing your thoughts consistently is a great practice that helps clear your head and remember important thoughts that occur throughout your day. The added feature of a "writing prompt" has helped Jack further detail out his thoughts and reflect on things he originally may not have considered to journal about.

If you decide to download the app to use as your journaling companion, I truly thank you for choosing Lost in Thought as your thought repository. I hope you see the benefits of keeping a journal and gather memories over time that you will be able to reflect on forever. Here's hoping you Get Lost! - LiT Creator, Jack Mahoney
